Beate Körner

Beate Körner's interest lies in elements either forgotten or beyond our memory. Her work is the radical shift of the spectator’s focus towards these zones of low visibility. A moment of astonishment and intervals of visual unconsciousness in the mechanized flow of events underlie her work.
This inspiration is traversed and haunted by topics including reified absence, non-linguistic language, and the experience of time. In her artistic activities, Beate Körner actively strives to introduce a disrupting element into familiar settings, which launches a transformative process employing performative strategies as well as video installation, text and forms of drawing.
